Lisa Spiwak was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Pacific Palisades High School in 1979 and attended one of the Claremont Colleges, Pitzer College. She also completed a portion of her studies at the London School of Economics. She majored in Organizational Studies and Sociology and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983.

Upon graduation from Pitzer College, Lisa was accepted at Southwestern University School of Law. She spent a portion of her law school education at the University of London in London, England studying international trade and finance and maritime law and received her Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern in 1986.

After practicing as a commercial litigation attorney for five years, she and Nick Iezza started Spiwak & Iezza, LLP in 1992. In that same time period, Lisa applied and was accepted into the Temporary Judge Program through the Los Angeles Municipal Court. She completed the course work and received certification for completion of the training course for temporary judge work. Between 1992 and 1998, Lisa sat on the bench of the Los Angeles Small Claims Courts as a Judge Pro Tem.

Since 1992, Lisa has headed up Spiwak and Iezza, LLP. Her firm has become the preeminent California law firm for commercial collection litigation and a leader in the industry. They represent financial institutions, leasing companies and various large multi-national corporations in the collection of their commercial debt and all aspects of creditor rights litigation.

Lisa is also a published author, having written numerous articles for various business and legal publications. In 2016, she was voted one of the 25 most influential women in collections.

She is married and has three children. Lisa and her family have a passion for travel and have traveled extensively worldwide. She is also passionate about animals and is an accomplished equestrian. Her and her family live on a small ranch in Ventura County.

Nick I. Iezza was born and raised in Glendale, California. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics in 1983. He went on to Pepperdine Law School and graduated in 1986. Nick has specialized in commercial collection litigation since finishing school, and his career has had a heavy emphasis on leasing and banking creditor right's litigation in both State and Federal Courts. He is an active member and part of the Executive Committee of Provisors in Westlake Village and is also a member of its Los Angeles Distributors and Manufacturer’s Group, and its Growth Group in Westlake Village. He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Italian Catholic Federation in Thousand Oaks, California.

During his career, he has been a frequent speaker on commercial collection litigation matters throughout the country and has overseen collection litigation on behalf of his national clients in all the California counties and most of the fifty states. He is an active member in several organizations including the National Equipment Finance Association, the California Bankers Association, and the Special Asset Management Association. In his free time, he loves to travel and play tennis.

Kelly was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As an attorney at Spiwak & Iezza, LLP, Kelly has developed her practice in representing clients in the financial, leasing, and service sector in the areas of debt collection, complex commercial litigation, and creditor rights in bankruptcy in both the state and federal courts in California. Kelly also represents commercial retail tenants in the drafting and negotiation of grounds leases in major commercial developments throughout the state of California. Kelly is currently admitted to practice before all state courts and all four federal district courts in California. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association as well as the National Equipment Finance Association.

Ken Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. Ken was admitted to practice law in 1988. Since that time, he has had more than 25 years of diverse business litigation experience, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, appeals, complex law and motion and discovery. He has practiced law at major law firms in Los Angeles and is now heading up the litigation department at Spiwak and Iezza. Ken has been with Spiwak & Iezza, LLP since 2005, is active in the community and is a member of several organizations.

Jayd Banuelos was born and raised in Southern California. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Concordia University Irvine. She also completed a portion of her studies at Concordia College Bronxville in New York.

Upon graduation, Jayd attended Whittier Law School in Orange County. In addition to her studies, she sat on the board of the National Latino Law Student Association as the Pacific Regional Director, helping host the association's annual conference at Boston College of Law and Harvard Law School, and held multiple leadership positions on the boards for the Hispanic American Law Student Association and the Student Bar Association. Jayd received her Juris Doctor, along with a certification in Trial and Appellate Advocacy upon graduation.

In her spare time, Jayd can be found at the beach, and spending time with her family, or at networking events hosted by one of the various associations she is a member of.

Richard Petersen was born and raised in Glendale, California. His undergraduate studies were done at the University of California at Los Angeles where he majored in economics. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983.

Richard went on to study law at Loyola Law School. He received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in June, 1988. He was admitted to practice law in the State of California in December of that same year. Richard is licensed to practice law in all of the State courts of California. In addition, he has been admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in both the Southern and Central Districts.

Richard has spent his entire career handling matters in litigation. He has extensive experience in discovery, law and motion and trials. He also has experience in civil appeals and has written and argued many successful appeals before the Appellate Courts of the State of California.

His social interests include weight lifting, tennis and racquetball. He also enjoys all outdoor activities.
